It started with a father's answer
When Dr. Nagubadi Subba Rao wanted to build something in his parents' names, he asked his father whether it should be a college, a high school, or a school for disabled children. His father, a small farmer whose two daughters had hearing loss, chose the school without a moment's thought.
The school has been funded personally by Dr. Subba Rao ever since, with no government or outside funding.
What every child gets here
Specialist teaching
Trained teachers use sign language, lip reading, and voice, based on each child's hearing.
A home at school
Hostel, meals, clothes, books, and pens are all provided at no cost to families.
Skills for life
Students learn practical skills, play sports, and build the confidence to find work.
Help us reach more children
Our teachers visit villages every year to find deaf children who could join us. If you know a child who could study here, or you'd like to support the school, we'd love to hear from you.
